Almost Done! Not.

A week ago I was ahead of schedule with all my work.  Pretty excited, you know, treating myself to a couple more hours of sleep a night, drinking beverages other than coffee...

Last Thursday, Mr. Digital Chisel took a precious moment to color-calibrate my monitor (set my screen colors equal to those of a general printer, so that when I print my book the colors won't be fugly).  How wrong could the colors of my monitor be?  This would be just a quick fix.
WRONG.  My trusty mac screen was so off, when I opened the files to my book they were all GREEN.  Awesome.  I'm only 6 pages away from finishing my book and now it looks like the Hulk threw up on it.  Granted, this was a blessing in disguise.  It's better I know now so I can fix the mess before I pay $30 to print a big green mistake.  So, much of my week has consisted of dragging color sliders all over the place.

When I wasn't color-correcting (or filling my time with other irrelevant, bothersome obligations) I'd been completing another full spread to my book.  I was adding the finishing touches, having the spread fully colored, shaded, highlighted... done, for the most part.  That is, until both pages got corrupted.  In my mind, I was on a beautiful, full-speed-ahead victory train riding my way into the light of completion.....(obviously way too happy for my own good)......and then the tracks ran out.  And my train crashed, hit a hard wall of despair, and blew up in my face.  That's a whole week's worth of work gone.  Poof.  Sure, I still have the rest of the book at least.  I mean it's freakin' green, but whatever.

Back to the drawing board..... and the coffee shop.  Venti dark roast, please.  Extra caffeine.
The image above displays the new sketches for pages 43 and 44, the pages that I lost.  What's ironic, is the title for this spread.  "Almost Done."

Wagon, Unfinished

Here's a little wagon being pulled onto page 42.  It's just a teaser until the full spread (pages 41-42) is complete.
I've been slowing down on pages since I've been working on another project, but I can't mention what that is yet!  When the time is right you'll know (wink).

Go, Moonie, Go!

Just a small spot illustration from page 36.
Here, Moonie is in a hurry to get back to work on his surprise masterpiece.
